Millinery Essentials Course – Day Three

Now the work begins!

We’re continually working on our ‘fascinators’ in between the stages for our ‘big hats’ (waiting for it to dry etc), so I don’t expect to be finished it much before the ‘big hat’ is.  But I’ve finalised a shape/design/theme for my hatinator so it should come together quite nicely.

Now, for my ‘big hat’, what I’ve ended up with is a bit of a cross between my two pictures.  The brim won’t be as big as the red hat, but is a similar shape, and the crown is more like the first one, but a little peaked at the front.  It’s hard to describe.. but here we go…

It’s a cross between:-

Guy Morse-Brown Crown Block

Apparantly, however, I’ve chosen to do a difficult crown/brim combo in a difficult fabric.  Thankfully the instructor is more than happy to help me.  It does mean that I’ll be doing the hat in three parts, rather than two, so more work for me…. hehe

But the important thing is that I’m having fun 😀
