Day two was fun! We got to use hat blocks to make the bases of our ‘fascinator’ (mine’s turning more into a hatinator), sewing on millinery wire and starting to stitch the bias around the edging.
It’s amazing how something flat can be transformed into a 3D shape. It doesn’t matter what craft I’m doing, I always marvel at the transformation.
This week is all about thinking about our ‘big hat’ and the finishing on our fascinator.

These are the kind of shapes I like, and I think I could get wear out of.
I’m fascinated (no pun intended) by a millinery course. I can’t wait to see your fascinator, and I love the hat on the right for you.
I have a massive cranium too. I like to think it’s to hold my huge brain. You may steal that idea, if you like!
