This might make me unpopular with some people.. but quite frankly, that’s not my problem…
I love a good ballroom dance, I do… I think it takes a lot of skill and stamina…
BUT
WHY does it have to be used as an example for every single type of dance? I’m watching Carols in the Domain, and Ross Wilson from Daddy Cool just did a “rock’n’roll” number, and rather than sourcing BRILLIANT 1950’s style rock’n’roll dancers (which Sydney has an ABUNDANCE of), they’ve used ballroom dancers. If they were wearing something even CLOSE to 50’s style gear, I could probably hold my tongue, but no, they were in their Latin ‘barely there’ dresses.
It just makes me sad… very sad.
They do the same thing with swing dancing. No wonder ‘our’ scene goes through waxing and waning stages… we just don’t get the exposure we should.
